In the vast and fascinating world of wine, there are few producers who attain the iconic status and Produttori del Barbaresco is one of them. Inspired by the pioneering XIX century project of “Cantina Sociale del Castello” – Produttori was reinvented in 1958 by Don Fiorino – a priest appointed to run the parish of Barbaresco. To help the struggling farmers, he persuaded nineteen of them to make wine together. The members decided to focus on one grape only (Nebbiolo), grown exclusively in Barbaresco.

“Produttori was an exception from day one – thanks to the vision of Don Fiorino and a few important decisions made back then” – says Aldo Vacca, the managing director of the cooperative since 1991. Six decades later and from its humble beginnings, Produttori has grown to become a 54-member co-operative, which constantly outperforms any similar 
ventures both in Italy and worldwide.

 While nine of Produttori Single Cru Riserva wines have their special status, the flagship bottling – Barbaresco DOCG is a benchmark for the quality in the region.
