Etienne Calsac L'échappée Belle Blanc de Blancs

In 2010 at the age of 26, Etienne took over his Grandparents vineyards. He immediately began working manually with horse and hand and began the adoption of organic farming. Based across the Cote de Blancs and the Grande Valle de la Marne, a majority of his production is focused on Chardonnay, he does however work with forgotten ancient varieties such as Arbanne and Petit Mesiler. Across the board, from his entry level perpetual reserve wine to his walled single vineyard drops, the quality is outstanding.  

Etienne, on a quest to understand each microclimate of each plot, chooses to vinify each plot separately. This brings us closer to the specific terroir. Through rigorous selection and a focus on fruit quality, we are left with exceptionally fine site-specific champagne combined with the Calsac signature complexity.  Even choosing to age under cork, as opposed to capsule, a historic practice that has almost completely disappeared.
