Crazy Crazy Pét Nat

Martin Wörner is part of a league of young wine makers coming up through the ranks in Germany’s natural wine movement. Undertaking his first vintage in 2017, Marto took over his grandfather’s 5 hectares of vines based in Flonheim, Rheinhessen.

Marto focuses on soil health and biodiversity and applies a mix of organic and biodynamic farming principles, practices he learned whilst working with esteemed natural wine producers Gut Oggau and Matassa in 2015.

Working with wooden barrels and old foudres, wines are made with indigenous yeasts and left unfiltered, unfined with any sulphur additions. Marto uses a rock on as his labels as a nod to Flonheim and its characteristic sandstone.
