Monastrell Los Frailes

Family-owned since 1771, Casa Los Frailes is currently run by the 13th generation of the Velázquez family. Formerly a Jesuit friary, the estate
totals 162 hectares, with 130 hectares under vine. The remainder is covered by forest, almond and olive trees. Their approach to farming is
entirely holistic, and they were one of the first organic wineries in Spain, certified in 2000. Cellar work is traditional, using centuries-old
concrete vats for fermentation as well as more modern steel tanks. This is authentic, artisan Monastrell, made with a gentle touch and an
approach that combines forward thinking with respect for tradition.
