La Bicicleta Voladora Blanco

The underlying philosophy of La Bicicleta Voladora is akin to the one which drives the other two projects of German Blanco (Quinta Milú in Ribera del Duero and Casa Aurora in Bierzo Alto): organic viticulture and minimum intervention in the cellar with the aim to bottle landscapes from the winemaker’s perspective. With the grapes sourced from the trusted growers in Navarra part of Rioja, German together with his friend Javier Colio, make fresh, fluid, vertical reds. Mostly Tempranillo, with proportion of Viura are both destemmed without crushing. The fermentation with native yeast is gradual and extraction process is gentle. Aging takes place in combination of concrete, amphorae, and flex – tank eggs of various size, lasting around 8 months.
